A-Listers Gather to Celebrate Actress's Life While Family Hold Funeral

LIAM Neeson and family buried Natasha Richardson in a private family ceremony yesterday.

The 45-year-old Irish actor, his two sons, Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12, as well as Natasha's mum Vanessa Redgrave and her sister Joely Richardson attended the funeral in New York.

The service was held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Millbrook, where Natasha married Liam in 1994.

Liam and six other pallbearers carried Natasha's coffin into the church and after an emotional hour-long ceremony, the family drove to a nearby cemetery - close to the home the pair shared - where the burial took place.

Natasha was laid to rest just metres from her grandmother Rachel Redgrave and after the burial, Liam and Vanessa paid respects at Rachel's grave.

Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman and Mia Farrow also attended the service.

On Friday celebrities gathered to mourn the actress, who died on Wednesday after a skiing accident, at a wake in New York.

An array of famous mourners including Uma, Ralph, Matthew Broderick, Ethan Hawke, Diane Sawyer, Matthew Modine, and Sarah Jessica Parker also came to offer their condolences.

Earlier, Matthew, husband to SJP, said: "Natasha was a very close friend of our family, so it's been a very, very sad few days and I think it will stay that way for a good while."

Here they go again! Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden are expecting another child, barely a year after the arrival of daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden last Jan. 11.

In a message on the Web site of Good Charlotte, the band he fronts, Madden, 29, wrote, “I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! God has truly blessed my family.

Hope [you're] all feeling as good as i am right now.” Madden’s message is titled “Better than winning an OSCAR!”

After a famously wild childhood, Richie, 27, credited the birth of daughter Harlow for leading her to a more tranquil life at home with Madden. “She gives life a whole new meaning,” Richie said in a coverstory featuring stunning photos of the blissful family.

Reps for Madden and Richie did not immediately return calls for comment.

LONDON: (AFP) British tourists have left the residents of one charming Austrian village effing and blinding by constantly stealing the signs for their oddly named village. While British visitors are finding it hilarious, the residents of Fucking are failing to see the funny side.

Only one kind of criminal ever stalks the sleepy 32-house village near the Salzburg on the German border - cheeky British tourists armed with a sense of humour and a screwdriver.

But the local authorities are hitting back and with the signs now set in concrete, police chief Kommandant Schmidtberger is on the lookout. "We will not stand for the Fucking signs being removed," the officer said.

"It may be very amusing for you British, but Fucking is simply Fucking to us. What is this big Fucking joke? It is puerile."

Local tourist guide Andreas Behmueller said it was only the British that had a fixation with Fucking. The Germans all want to see the Mozart house in Salzburg," he explained. "Every American seems to care only about the Sound of Music (the 1965 film shot around Salzburg). The occasional Japanese wants to see Hitler's birthplace in Braunan.
"But for the British, it's all about Fucking."

Guesthouse manager Augustina Lindlbauer described the village's breathtaking lakes, forests and vistas. "Yet still there's this obssession with Fucking," she said. "Just this morning I had to tell an English lady who stopped by that there were no Fucking postcards."

NICOLE RICHIE'S BABY IS NUMBER ONE

Partying is no longer a priority for new mom Nicole Richie, says Joel Madden.

"She's at home," he said at the DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl of Nic's whereabouts this weekend. "She's a mom; she's not really interested in going to any parties. She occasionally goes to parties, but I like football and this is a brothers' trip."

And as for their baby Harlow, who just had her first birthday?

"She's great!" he said of his daughter. "She's growing fast. She speaks five different languages and she's actually becoming a baby translator. She translates for other babies."

And looks like Nicole's got nothing to worry about. While brother Benji hosted a party Saturday night, Joel was spotted solo, trying his luck at the tables at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino around 2 a.m.

MICHAEL PHELPS SUSPENDED 'COS OF DRUGS

America's favourite swimmer, Michael Phelps has been suspended from competition for three months by USA Swimming, in the latest fallout from a photo that showed the Olympic great inhaling from a marijuana pipe.

The sport’s national governing body also cut off its financial support to Phelps for the same three-month period, effective Thursday.

“This is not a situation where any anti-doping rule was violated, but we decided to send a strong message to Michael because he disappointed so many people, particularly the hundreds of thousands of USA Swimming member kids who look up to him as a role model and a hero,” the federation said in a statement.

“Michael has voluntarily accepted this reprimand and has committed to earn back our trust.”

The bad news for Phelps comes as the star swimmer was dropped by major sponsor and cereal manufacturer Kelloggs.

Kelloggs said it would not be renewing its sponsorship contract with Phelps, telling the Associated Press that Phelps' behaviour - he was caught on camera smoking marijuana - was "not consistent with the image of Kellogg(s).'' The company put Phelps on boxes of its Frosted Flakes and Corn Flakes but its contract with the swimmer expires at the end of the month. Other sponsors are still backing Phelps, since the photos surfaced in Britain's News of the World, showing him inhaling from a marijuana pipe.

Phelps won eight gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Overall, Phelps has won 16 Olympic medals: six gold and two bronze at Athens in 2004, and eight gold at Beijing in 2008.

Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher (pic below) spoke up for Phelps over Twitter message by saying, "I wish the media would kill this Phelps story", "I'm not saying it was a smart move. But he doesn't need to be publicly outed for it" and "He's a good kid"

On Monday, February 2, Michael Phelps issued an apologetic statement to the Associated Press concerning a picture of him smoking marijuana which was made public by News of the World on late Saturday, January 31. "I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment," so he stated. "I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."

It looks like six children isn't enough for Angelina Jolie, who is reportedly on a special diet to help her get pregnant again.

The 'Changeling' and 'Wanted' actress, who is already raising her six children (three adopted, three biological) with partner Brad Pitt, is said to have been taking steps to ensure she is expecting again by summer, even though it is claimed that doctors have advised her against trying for another baby for a year.

Angelina gave birth to her twins Knox and Vivienne only last July.

Wow-wee!! Another more children??? Is she aiming for a football team?

20 year-old Ruslana Korshunova’s death is another reminder of how precious life is, even with life’s imperfections.

We might think that where there glitz and glamour it can’t be all bad, right? For Ruslana Korshunova, reportedly she thought it was.

In her own words she wrote:
“Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably,” the sandy-haired knockout wrote in a poem that concluded: “And never regret anything that made you smile.”

“I’m a bitch. I’m a witch. I don’t care what you say!!!” she wrote

March 11. “I know what it is. I know why my other relationships didn’t work out, ’cause I’m unpredictable. Why are you afraid of it?”

On May 30 (her last posting): “Do not confuse love and desire. Love is the sun, desire - only flash. Desire dazzles, and the sun gives life.” Love does not take away from one in order to give to another. Love - this is the essence of life. But you will not give your life to another.”

Ruslana Korshunova, 20, died around 2:30 p.m. in a fall from a building on Water Street, in Manhattan’s Financial District, The New York Post, the Daily News and Newsday reported.

“I think she just gave up,” said [ex-boyfriend] Artem Perchenok, 24, who was with Korshunova on the last night of her short life.The 5-foot-8 head-turner, who liked camping and fishing, kept her problems “bottled up,” he said. “When a job would go bad, she’d take it out on herself.”

But her latest beau, Mark Kaminsky, 32, of Staten Island - who said he talked with Ruslana hours before her suicide plunge - insisted the beauty was “liking what she did.”

“She was a love for me,” he said, noting the first time he saw her he gushed: “I’m in shock over your beauty.”..

Perchenok speculated, “She was doing great [in her career]. Maybe she was overworked.

“It [her career] was taking off. She was busy, busy. When you’re 20 years old and you travel the world, how can you complain? But . . . your family’s back home and people are telling you what to do and how much to eat and how to walk.”

The size-4 stunner appeared to have dropped some serious weight from her already thin frame and was complaining about a stomachache in the four or five days before her death.

Ruslana plunged to her death from the ninth-floor balcony of her Manhattan apartment building at 2:30 p.m. on June 28.

The 5'8 green-eyed model was discovered dead in the middle of a street, barefoot in blue jeans and a purple tank top.

“Her arms were crushed,” a witness told the NY Daily News. “Her head was on the left side and blood was coming out in a pool.”

New York City police say they found no signs of struggle in Korshunova’s apartment the day she died, and the medical examiner’s office has officially ruled the death a suicide…

It must not be easy, life for celebrities... with the whole world watching your every move through medias that tell lies and potray you in a bad light for their own gain and paparazzis that hound you 24-7 like a bloodthirsty wolf.
You live in an aquarium and everyone is out to get a piece of you. The world watches you, criticizes you when you dress less appropriately, condemns you on your choices, and pounces on you when you make a mistake. No peace, no rest. No wonder the guy needs to take anti-anxiety pills.

Sometimes we tend to forget that these people, are like us... only human.
Should we feel less for them, just because their jobs puts them in the limelight?

Even after death, still certain people won't leave his family in peace, still they want to hold his sins against him... worst of all, these people are calling themselves a Baptist church.

Covering a Celebrity’s Death

The news that the actor Heath Ledger was found dead on Tuesday in an apartment in SoHo has attracted worldwide attention; the Australian-born actor, who was 28, had won critical acclaim for several movie roles, most notably in Ang Lee’s “Brokeback Mountain” (2005). In The New York Times, James Barron provides an overview of the news.

Mr. Ledger was found naked on the floor near the bed in an apartment in SoHo that he had been renting. Police officials said that a bottle of prescription sleeping pills was found on a nearby night table, but it was not known whether the pills had anything to do with Mr. Ledger’s death.

Officers who checked the apartment found other prescription medications in the bathroom. A spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office said an autopsy would be conducted on Wednesday.

The police said they did not suspect foul play. There were no signs that Mr. Ledger had been drinking, nor were any illegal drugs found in the loft, which takes up the entire fourth floor. No obvious indications of suicide, like a note, were found in the bedroom. Neighbors said Mr. Ledger had occupied it for several months.

The News also reports that in addition to the sleeping pills, the police found bottles of the anti-anxiety drug Valium and the antidepressant Zoloft in the SoHo apartment. A related article in The News examines the stunned reactions of Mr. Ledger’s neighbors in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

The New York Post reports that Mr. Ledger “apparently overdosed on anti-anxiety pills.” Citing unnamed sources, The Post reports that bottles of the generic forms of Xanax and Valium, both anti-anxiety drugs prescribed for Mr. Ledger, were found in the apartment; that the prescription sleeping medication Ambien was found near Mr. Ledger’s body; and that a bottle of Donormyl, an antihistamine used as a sleep aid, and a packet of the drug Zopiclone, used for insomnia, were found on the nightstand.
